The Economic Development Corporation (EDC) encourages and financially assists industrial and commercial enterprises in locating and expanding in the County.
The EDC is a 9-member board appointed by the County Board of Commissioners for a 6-year term, per statute. From the GTCEDC creation in 1997, until 2009, members on the EDC also served on the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Effective January 1, 2009, both boards were separated and the EDC was restructured for new appointees in 2009 to represent a broader range of industry.
