Traverse Narcotics Team

While the proponents of legalizing narcotics would argue that drug use is a victimless crime, those who are sworn to serve and protect a community know from their daily experiences that drugs are unquestionably the catalyst for the lion’s share of criminal activity that occurs in their jurisdiction. Prostitution, robbery, burglary, home invasion, carjacking, and even homicides more often than not have a connection with the use, sale, or purchase of illegal narcotics.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to combating street level narcotics and vice-related crimes.  Our agency assigns 2 detectives to the Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT), which is a multijurisdictional team managed by the Michigan State Police. The TNT is responsible for the enforcement of Michigan Drug Laws primarily working in Leelanau, Grand Traverse, Antrim, Kalkaska, Wexford, Benzie, and Missaukee County. You may contact our detectives at 231-922-0993, or at our anonymous tip line at 800-3380-TNT (800-338-0868).
