The Commission on Aging's Board and Committee meetings have been cancelled for the remainder of the year.

The County Board of Commissioners have voted to restructure the Commission on Aging Board as an Advisory Board.

The redesigned Commission on Aging Board will act in an advisory role to a new Director and will not be involved in day-to-day operations.

The County Board of Commissioners acts as the true policy making Board for all County departments and has further designated the County Administrator for being responsible for day-to-day operations.

Given the specialized nature of the services provided by the Commission on Aging,it is important that the Commission on Aging's Board be advisory in nature and structured with the necessary expertise to provide advice and counsel to a new director. The individuals appointed to this Board will carry with them expertise in specific areas and also be able to provide information and experience that demonstrates best-practices in the industry for which the Commission on Aging is serving.
