Resource Recovery is the collecting and separating of certain waste materials for reprocessing into new forms. These recovered and recycled materials can be used as raw materials in the making of new products. Resource Recovery efforts help our environment and our economy by:
Reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills
Conserving natural resources
Reducing pollution by reducing the amount of raw materials needed
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change
Creating jobs in the recycling, reuse and manufacturing industries in the U.S.
