Antrim - Grand Traverse - Leelanau County
13th Circuit Court
The 13th Circuit Court has jurisdiction over criminal felony cases as well as civil cases where the amount in controversy is $25,000 or more. The court also has jurisdiction over family matters through its Family Division and Friend of the Court.
13th Circuit Court - Family Division
The Family Division has jurisdiction over family and juvenile matters including adoptions, parenting time, paternity, juvenile delinquency, truancy and name changes.
86th District Court
The District Court has jurisdiction over all criminal misdemeanor cases, arraignments and preliminary examinations in felony matters, as well as civil cases where the amount in controversy is $25,000 or less.
Friend of the Court
The Friend of the Court provides services to parties with minor children involved in a divorce, family support, interstate or paternity case in Antrim, Grand Traverse or Leelanau County.
The Probate Court has jurisdiction over guardianships, conservatorships, decedent estates, wills, trusts, involuntary treatment of mentally ill and delayed registration of foreign birth.
The probation departments for the various courts provide probation for offenders convicted of crimes.
