The Historic Courthouse is located on the corner of Boardman Avenue and Washington Street.
In 2001, the Grand Traverse County Family Court Records division of the 13th Circuit Court was established in compliance with MCL 600.1011. Since that date, the County Clerk has maintained court records in two locations based upon the type of complaint filed.

In general, civil cases involving claims for damages in excess of $25,000 are filed in Circuit Court Records as well as review of administrative agency decisions, appeals from the District Court, civil matters regarding titles to property, criminal felony cases and divorces without minor children. This office also holds the records for domestic cases that commenced prior to 2001.

OFFICE HOURS
Office hours for both records offices are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please be aware that research of court files during the hours of noon and 2:00 pm may be restricted because older casefiles are located away from the main office due to space constraints.
COPIES
Cost of standard copies is $0.50 per page.
Cost of certified copies are: $10.00 plus $1.00 per page.
