Family Court Records

Located in the Hall of Justice

The Hall of Justice is located on the south side of Washington St. halfway between Boardman Avenue and Cass Street.

In 2001, the Grand Traverse County Family Court Records division of the 13^th Circuit Court was established in compliance with MCL 600.1011. Since that date, the County Clerk has maintained court records in two locations based upon the type of complaint filed.

Cases initiated in 2001 to current including: divorces involving minor children, paternity and family support actions, petitions for personal protection orders and legal name changes. Additionally, Family Court maintains all records for adoptions, emancipation of minors, parental consent waivers , juvenile offenses, and abuse and neglect matters which were previously handled through Probate Court.

OFFICE HOURS
Office hours for both records offices are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please be aware that research of court files during the hours of noon and 2:00 pm may be restricted because older casefiles are located away from the main office due to space constraints.

COPIES
Cost of standard copies is $0.50 per page.

Cost of certified copies are: $10.00 plus $1.00 per page.
