Located in the Hall of Justice
The Hall of Justice is located on the south side of Washington St. halfway between Boardman Avenue and Cass Street.
In 2001, the Grand Traverse County Family Court Records division of the 13th Circuit Court was established in compliance with MCL 600.1011. Since that date, the County Clerk has maintained court records in two locations based upon the type of complaint filed.

Cases initiated in 2001 to current including: divorces involving minor children, paternity and family support actions, petitions for personal protection orders and legal name changes. Additionally, Family Court maintains all records for adoptions, emancipation of minors, parental consent waivers , juvenile offenses, and abuse and neglect matters which were previously handled through Probate Court.
FEES
Fees may be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card (see link on the left of the page for credit card payments).
Instructions for credit card payments:
This site is not for payment of District Court, Antrim County or Leelanau County fees.
1. Choose the "Family Civil/Juvenile Court Credit Card Payments" on the left side of this page.
2. Sign on as a Guest User or create a Username and Password.
3. Provide the information such as name, email address, telephone number, etc.
4. Select "Family Civil Court" for civil payments or "Juvenile Court" for delinquency or neglect/abuse payments.
5. Enter payer name and telephone number.
6. Scroll through the payment categories and enter the payment amount and case number in the appropriate
category.
7. Enter credit card information.
8. Review information regarding additional fees and rules.
9. A confirmation will be forwarded to your email address as well as to the Records office.
Payments made after 5:00 P.M. will be posted the next business day.

OFFICE HOURS
Office hours for both records offices are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please be aware that research of court files during the hours of noon and 2:00 pm may be restricted because older casefiles are located away from the main office due to space constraints.
COPIES
Cost of standard copies is $0.50 per page.
Cost of certified copies are: $10.00 plus $1.00 per page.
