Currently, we are taking applications for qualified applicants to serve on the following Boards & Commissions:

NORTHERN LAKES COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH BOARD - The Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Board is six-county authority - Grand Traverse, Crawford, Leelanau, Missaukee, Roscommon and Wexford – and has the responsibility for the planning, service delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive range of mental health services for mentally ill adults and children. Monthly meetings are staggered throughout the six county area. http://northernlakescmh.com/about-us/board-of-directors/ 

A vacancy exists for a Mental Health Professional on this Board.  The appointment will be to fill the remainder of a three year term ending 3-31-14. 

BUILDING AUTHORITY - SIX YEAR TERM: Authority is for the purpose of acquiring, furnishing, equipping, owning, improving, enlarging, operating and maintaining a building or buildings, automobile parking lots or structures and the necessary site or sites therefore, for the use of the county, city, village or township.  
A vacancy exists for a citizen representative on the authority.  This appointment will be to fill the remainder of the six year term ending 12-31-15.

Farmland Preservation Board - We currently have a vacancy on the Farmland Preservation Board for a representative of Agricultural Operations.  The Farmland and Open Space Development Rights Ordinance #26 and additional information can be found here http://www.co.grand-traverse.mi.us/departments/planning/farmland.htm
This six member Board meets as needed and terms are 3 years.


Economic Development Corporation - representative in the areas of healthcare, energy or agriculture  (EDC meets every other month)
