Geographical information systems (g.I.S.)

is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the parcel ownership layer, the road easement layer, ArcIMS Intranet application, and the geocoding application among others. G.I.S. Division acts as a G.I.S. service center providing tailor made maps and conducting analysis upon request for the county, local governmental units, and the private sector requiring geographically based information. It is envisioned that all capital improvements planning will be conducted on a fully integrated G.I.S. system, which when fully implemented will allow analysis of the effects of the improvements on the population, recreational facilities, roads, etc.
