LAND BANK AUTHORITY

The Grand Traverse County Land Bank Authority (LBA) is an entity that is required to fall under the umbrella of the Grand Traverse County Treasurer's Office, however the LBA is staffed by the Grand Traverse County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA) office in the Planning Department.  If you have questions or need further information, please contact the BRA office via telephone at:  231.922.6890 or via email at kmcintyr@grandtraverse.org or jderenzy@grandtraverse.org .

WHAT IS A LAND BANK AUTHORITY?

"A Land Bank Authority is a governmental entity that focuses on the conversion of vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties into productive use. The growing inventory of these properties could be precisely the community assets to proactively redevelop distressed urban areas. They can be pivotal in making property redevelopment more efficient and affordable in downward economic cycles as a stimulus for reinvestment, and in reserving land for targeted purposes in upward economic cycles." -Land Bank Authorities, Frank S. Alexander
