Process to obtain a copy of a death record.
Records are open to the public, no ID required. Records available: Deaths that have occurred in Grand Traverse County 1867 to present.
We can process requests made through mail, email, fax or in person at our office. You can view a death record during our research hours or purchase a certified copy of it. The fee for a certified copy is $10.00 for the first copy, $4.00 for each additional copy of the same record. Fees may be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card (see link on the left of the page for credit card payments).
