The goal of our Health Education Program is to provide advocacy, outreach and educational programs throughout the community. A variety of venues are utilized, including health fairs, schools, individual client services, and the use of this website. The Grand Traverse County Health Department participates in numerous committees and coalitions related to health education and/or health promotion. Call for more information. Topics often include: • HIV/AIDS • Blood Borne Pathogens • Tobacco: smoking cessation and second hand smoke issues • Reproductive Health Services including sexually transmitted infections • Safety, both in home and in the workplace • Health Insurance for children and adults • Nutrition • Immunizations, both consumer and provider education • Communicable Diseases • Emergency Preparedness, including individual, community, and business • Childhood Safety |
